Hello I am Helen Maxwell, a fully qualified nutritional therapist and a breathwork coach.
I work with my clients to try to resolve the root cause of their health issues and symptoms. I provide nutrition, lifestyle and health advice for many different issues but some of the common concerns I deal with are:
- Improving energy levels, overcoming fatigue
- Digestive conditions such as acid reflux, gall stones, gout and IBS.
- Hormones – PCOS, menopause and PMS.
- Heart and cardiovascular issues such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
- Pre-diabetes and high levels of Hba1c.
- Weight loss and associated health issues.
- Osteoporosis and bone density problems.
- Inflammation – this is at the root of many chronic conditions such as arthritis and skin problems (eczema/psoriasis) as well as autoimmune conditions such as those involving the thyroid and rheumatoid arthritis.
I also teach breathwork. The breathwork I teach focuses on restoring breathing to it’s natural rhythm, this being light, slow and deep. There are three core aspects of breathing to address. The research shows that the majority of people have at least one aspect of breathing that is disordered. Functional breath training therefore has applications for most people in order to correct this.
The health improvements range far and wide as you are learning to oxygenate your body properly. This has the potential to impact all areas of the physical body but also calms the mind. It is especially helpful for anxiety, stress, and panic disorder because breathing interacts with the heart, the gut via the diaphragm, and the mind.
